Abstract

There is a growing interest in the gamification of education; and a growing number of empirical studies examine its impacts on students. Several Hungarian studies are available which aid the practical implementation of gamification in education; however, the Hungarian literature lacks empirical studies where the focus is on the areas that could benefit from gamification and the factors that affect its effective use. This literature review answers these questions by presenting recent meta-analyses and systematic reviews in the international literature. In addition, some relevant aspects are discussed which may support the practical implementation of gamification.
